TheseUCL Special Collections, one of the foremost university collections of manuscripts, rare books and archives in the UK.We are seeking an exceptional candidate to join our Collection Strategy Team as a maternity cover for Head of Commercial Licensing & Digitisationto take the strategic lead for commercial digitisation and licensing opportunities within UCL Library Services.This is a key role in a recently established, ground-breaking area of activity. You will be responsible for maintaining and developing our operatingplan for digitising, licensing, and publishing material from our collections. This will require being proactive in identifying opportunities and the negotiation and implementation of new licensing initiatives with a range of publishers.This role is a fixedterm maternity cover for a period of 1 year and is expected to end on 7th August 2022 or when the post holder returns, whatever comes soonest.You will be educated to degree level or equivalent and have extensive work experience in an academic publishing orcommercial licensing environment. You will have significant experience of contract negotiation, including experience of drafting contracts and an understanding of financial procedures.You will be a problem-solver with a strong business and customer focus.Highly developed interpersonal skills will enable you to liaise, negotiate, and network effectively with publishers, academics and librarians at all levels.Strong communication skills are essential as you will be providing regular reports to senior colleaguesand other stakeholders. You will also have the ability to present in person and online, to advocate and disseminate knowledge and promote your work with confidence and enthusiasm.
