Job Description

Head of Category (Professional Services)Butler Ross have a brilliant opportunity for a Head of Category specialising in Professional Services to join a FTSE250 engineering services company. This role is predominantly home based with occasional travel in the UK for key meetings and visits. TheHead of Category will be for strategic development and taking leading with supplier relationships across the professional services category.Duties of the Head of Category

  • Managing a small but growing team of Global Category Leaders, Category Specialists and Category Managers.
  • Effective management of senior stakeholder relationships involved in Category development and execution.
  • Delivering tangible, bottom-line value and benefits to the business.
  • Establishing and delivering improvements to Business Unit and Sector requirements, including those driven by the future bid pipeline.
  • Holding responsibility for circa £150m spend across their specific categories.
  • Accountable for defining and implementing appropriate processes to ensure that the supplier relationships are appropriately managed.
  • Lead significant contract negotiations to ensure that best value is always delivered.
  • Responsible for ensuring that appropriate management of supplier major incidents takes place. 4
Previous experience required for the Head of Category
  • A minimum of 5 years experience working with the Big 4 Consultancies.
  • Proven experience in a Supplier Management or Strategic Sourcing role.
  • In depth knowledge and understanding of current strategic Procurement techniques and value levers.
  • Natural strategic thinker, with the ability to establish and communicate visions.
  • Has a clear commercial edge - strong experience of negotiation and comfortable with challenging commercial interactions.
  • Strong educational background.
Salary:Roles ranging from £85000 to £99000 + excellent benefitsThese roles will be ideal for you if you have previous experience within procurement and commercial management as a Head of Category, Head or Procurement, Senior Category Lead, Category Lead, or Senior Category Manager.
