Job Description

Our client provides a variety of services for the healthcare sector. They are looking for a new Head of Business Development to oversee their commercial team and build and manage relationships with their clients.The role would suit an experienced sales leader from within the healthcare sector.Client DetailsOur client provides a comprehensive range of tailored surgical instruments and medical device services with devontamination and sterilisation services at the heart of their solutions.They pride themselves on quality and integrity with the purpose of positively influencing the standard of care every person receives within the communities that they serve.DescriptionThe Head of Business Development will be responsible for leading a customer centric, high performing team in an environment of complexity, managing business strategic decisions that impact customer experience, innovation, sales and profitability. The role requires an individual with a considerable mix of market intelligence, strategic thinking as well as strong execution and collaboration skills.Key responsibilities include:

  • To ensure that the companys vision, values and policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.
  • Lead the team to develop and manage business development, sales and marketing strategies that achieve business objectives, profit and sales targets.
  • Live the Company Core Values and act as a Company Ambassador and Brand Champion.
  • Manage commercial aspects of the business including Contracts and Key Account Management.
  • Monitor and manage performance of the organisation against set KPIs. Coach, lead, empower, evaluate, and develop the team.
  • Build a culture of continuous improvement by leading business innovations to achieve greater customer experiences and higher levels of efficiency and productivity.
  • Gain contractual commitment for the long-term use of services to drive profitable revenue and volume growth in line with the defined strategic goals
  • ProfileThe successful Head of Business Development should have the following skillset:
  • A proven track record of managing a commercial team within the healthcare sector.
  • Exceptional customer focus and relationship building skills; Strong organisational leadership, with ability to inspire teams and colleagues
  • Proven experience in market shaping strategies and demonstrated an understanding of how to support them with practical elements of implementation
  • Strong business acumen and ability to protect margin and resist pricing pressures with effective strategies
  • A proven track record of commercial awareness and excellent negotiation skills
  • Track record of achieving sales and leading innovative problem solving in a team that meets evolving new business challenges
  • Ability to lead change and drive continuous improvement and innovation
  • Ability to persuade and influence people at all levels and develop good working relationships that promote team working in a high performing team
  • Job OfferBasic Salary £65,000 - £75,000 plus Car or allowance plus Bonus
