Job Description

West London public sector organisation, with a reputation for efficiency and effective management, has a vacancy for a Head of Building Serv ices / Property Services Manager to be the organisation’s expert advisor/SME in regards to the management and maintenance of a portfolio of properties.Responsible for a budget of £4.5m and managing a team of property maintenance and facility management professionals, you will take responsibility for contract negotiation and ongoing management of the organisation’s properties, including the project management of refurbs, refits etc. and allround estate management.This is a crucial role and as such the Head of Building Services/Head of Property Services MUST HAVE:

  • Experience in a role such as Head of Building Services, Head of Property Services, Head of Estate Management or similar in a public sector organisation - ESSENTIAL
  • Experience of procurement and budget management in a public sector organisation - ESSENTIAL
  • Experience of managing a team of maintenance and property management engineers - ESSENTIAL
  • Experience of managing and negotiating maintenance contracts with third-party suppliers - ESSENTIAL
  • Experience of managing an annual budget of £3m or more - ESSENTIAL
  • Experience of managing projects - ideally up to £1m capital expenditure - ESSENTIAL
  • Ideally, a background in mechanical or electrical engineering - DESIRABLE
  • Ideally, membership of a professional organisation such as RICS, CIOB, CIBSE etc - DESIRABLE
