Animal Management - Head Instructor - Bicton College - Salary: £19,171 - Closing Date: 4 June 2021 - Hours per week: 37 - Weeks per year: 52We only accept applications via our Cornwall College website, if you wish to apply for this role please follow this link; where you will be able to create a profile.An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Animal Management Department at Bicton College as we are looking for a Head Instructor to manage day to day actitivies at the Animal Husbandry School. This will include the management of the Practical Staff and Animal Collection. This role will also teach and assess all practical animal handling and husbandry skills to our Animal Management learners. The sucessful applcant will need to be educated to at least Level 3 in Animal Management or a closely related subject and will need to show sounds evidence of experience within the animal industry. Experience of leading a team is essential. Previous teaching experience would be required along with the ability to plan, deliver and assess students within a practical setting. This position will work very closely with the academic staff to instruct practical skills at a range of levels and assess competence. Enthusiasm and teamwork as well as excellent communication skills are essential. The ability to organise and manage a team of staff is also required. There will be some weekend work on a rota.
