Job Description

Our client a specialist buy-side institution with capabilities across LDI, Fixed Income, Equities, Multi-Asset and Absolute Return require a "Head Data Management Office". The role will report into their Head of Performance, Data & Specialist Credit.TheData Management Office oversees processes, controls, governance reporting relating to sourcing, quality of data for supporting key business processes and systems. DMO oversees Pooled Fund Operations, Investment Operations, Mandate Control, Operations Strategy,Performance Reporting, Specialist Credit Middle Office and Transitions and On-Boarding. The successful individual will be responsible for the day to day management of the Data Management Office, and have leadership of the data governance and management strategy.Dealing with senior stakeholders across the organisation forms part of the role supporting business growth. The incumbent will undertake the following; Define the framework for the day-to-day DMO activities within active Core Data Domains (as per the DataSteering Committee / Data Strategy agreed priorities) and manage the DMO team for: Data Domain taxonomy / definitions Data Lineage Data Dictionaries / Definitions Issue Management / Backlog Data Quality Assurance Define & implantation of KPI Metrics WorkingGroups (where applicable) Define and implement Market Data Governance Create working group and the sign-off process for enterprise level market data Ownership of enterprise level market data such as Bloomberg Cost-controls for enterprise level market dataDefine and implement the non-Core Data domain governance (Domain Owners, Data Owners, non-DMO Data Stewards) within IT, Operations, and the rest of the business Business Owner for Core Data Platform and Data & Application Infrastructure (D&AI) PrioritisationFront-running data requirements for each team (especially D&AI) Involvement in the strategic work on the overnight batch and ETL replacement. Business Sponsor data initiatives Responsible for guiding strategy, prioritisation, outcomes and deliverables foreach work stream in the Data Quadrant Engage with senior and executive business stakeholders with the Data Steering Committee and other relevant committees such as the Data Governance Group. Manage expectations of wide range of stakeholders (from IT to Operationsto Front Office) and give clear guidance as to progress Secretary of the Data Steering Committee, taking minutes and assisting with the meeting pack. Lead the Data of Community of Practice, using the DCP to get feedback from the business and spread the wordon the implantation of data governance Take lead on regular quarterly meetings with BNYM Internal Audit to give updates on progress We need someone who is experienced in data management and governance, and a wide range of financial instruments, to includeOTC Derivatives. In addition a track record in investment processes, namely Fixed Income and experience in data lineage and data architecture, to include data domains. Experience of working in an asset management organisation is important along with tradeprocesses, valuation, risk management and exposure to different asset types.
