Job Description

Luminate Education Group is one of the fastest improving and most innovative education groups in the country. WHAT WE DO We are the Independent Learning team for Leeds City College. We are a new team within college and we are here to support students to develop their independent learning and academic skills and achieve personal goals. We are looking for someone to join our team as our HE Research Librarian. We want you to lead on the development and delivery of academic and independent learning across our HE provision in Leeds. Candidates should be someone to provide high quality academic and research support to our HE students and staff. Being both proactive and reactive to needs and opportunities are key characteristics we are looking for within candidates.WHAT YOU WILL DOTo provide high quality study support for users of the University Centre independent learning services with their independent learning skill development Provide strategic leadership and line management for the HE facing side of the Independent Learning services Effective and efficient management of appointments, schedule and learner caseload so classes, groups and individuals are all supported either in face-to-face or remote sessions. To enable, encourage and support academic skills development and learning using the full range of college resources, including digital and online, and develop their understanding and knowledge on this theme To maintain and contribute to the development of library services and systems ensuring access and usage at HE level are to the required standard. Actively promote academic and independent learning skills and proactively assist students and library users to develop their information seeking, research and study support requirements on a one-to-one and small group basis Support and participate in the research activities of both HE students and staff, ensuring academic integrity and standards are adhered to at all times.YOUR PROFILE Have an eagerness to help students whenever we come into contact with them. Display an eagerness to innovate in terms of resource delivery and development. Have experience of supporting research at an HE level. Candidates must have a desire to develop their own skills and experiences. Previous experience working with students and staff at an HE academic level. Teamwork, communication and interpersonal skills are key.
