Make a difference.The ChallengeYoull be responsible for creating the national operational safety strategy for the Group and for leading a cross-functional team to deploy the strategy across a portfolio of properties across the UK.As the subject matter expert on operational safety, including fire safety and risk, you will proactively take the lead on highlighting current and future risks to the operational business, ensuring appropriate ownership and assisting the wider team in implementingrobust and appropriate solutions and control measures.The CompanyThis is a large FTSE 250 business. As Group Safety Director, reporting to the COO; this is a pivotal leadership role to make your own.The company has a thirst to build a "best in class" effective operational safety and risk management framework that addresses Operational Health & Safety, Fire Life Safety, Security and Resilience.Your futureWith you onboard, robust foundations assured, this business will be able to continue to grow and scale; youll be looking at being the No1 in Group Safety for a FTSE 100 business that youve helped shape.Its not there yet.   • A proven safety leader from a property/construction business, with a track record in Fire Safety. Effective both at a strategic and operational level;
  • Excellent leadership qualities with an empowering, coaching approach that enables colleagues to perform their best;
  • Track record of building and leading multi-disciplinary technical teams;
  • Committed to effectively enabling organisational diversity;
  • Robust professional and personal credibility, commanding respect both inside and outside the organisation;
  • Professionally qualified; IOSH, NEBOSH, IFSM, Chartered Fire Engineer or equivalent to demonstrate qualified technical leadership.
