Group Financial Accountant

Job Description

This international law firm works from over 20 global offices, their work is cross-border, high profile and complex. They work across many businesses area including insurance, energy, corporate and dispute resolution.They are currently looking for Group Financial Accountant, the position will work closely with and support the Global Partnership and Financial Accounting Lead to drive the continuous improvement of global financial close and monthly reporting control processesas well as developing group cash management procedures and controls. This will involve a focus on day-to-day operational tasks but will also provide the opportunity to work on, and implement, a variety of projects.Responsibilities

• Responsible for the review and oversight of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process for specific regions, including review of variance analysis, balance sheet reconciliations and control checklists.

• Production of monthly, quarterly, year end and ad hoc financial reporting for the group.

• Recommend amendments to business processes and controls while also driving progress on group financial control projects with regional teams.

• Assist with the development of group accounting and reporting systems working closely with the Global .

• Partnership and Financial Accounting Lead, Global Controller and Finance System Support team.

• Responsibility for the monthly review of intercompany balances and production of the global.

• Intercompany reconciliation matrix including resolution of any differences before month end close.

• Preparation of quarterly covenant compliance reports to the firms bankers in line with bank agreements.

• Including the consolidation of financial results and calculation of financial covenants.

• Assisting in the preparation and review of the annual consolidated financial statements.

• Preparation of statutory financial statements for UK subsidiary entities (LLPs and Corporates) including reconciliation with between management accounts and the statutory financial statements;

• Coordination of year end group audit file and liaise with auditors through the interim and year end audits to ensure successful completion in line with timetable.

• Maintain, review, develop and document group accounting policies.

• Supporting the wider finance team with advice on technical accounting issues

• Liaison with regional financial controllers and finance mangers on the firms cash flow position, including review of cash flow budgets and reforecasting,

Candidate Profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA or equivalent), practice trained from a top 10 accounting firm.

• Minimum 3 years experience as a qualified accountant with excellent knowledge of UK GAAP/FRS102 and IFRS

• Extensive experience in preparing and reviewing financial statements under UK GAAP and IFRS for LLPs and Limited Companies

• Experience in a group role working within a multi-currency and multi-jurisdictional environment

• Past involvement in internal audit and control reviews and experience of managing the external audit process is desirable

• Experienced user of Microsoft Excel, including use of pivot tables as well as vlookup and sumif formulas as a minimum. Experience with Macros, Power Query and Power BI an advantage.

• Knowledge of Elite 3E is desirable
