Group Finance Manager - Specialist Asset Manager

Job Description

A rare opportunity for a strong, qualified ACA/CA individual to step into a role where youll be working closely with the FD day to day.With oversight over all group financial reporting needs, its a role that will be challenge you whilst offering a clear, rewarding career path.With exciting projects happening both now and in the future, youll be at the forefront of the teams growth as well as the sharp trajectory the business is currently on.Alongside project work, responsibilities include:

  • Oversee all group financial reporting for the asset manager and assist in the co-ordination and planning of work in the finance department as required.
  • Ensuring that the general ledger is accurate and complete, and that all analytical reviews and balance sheet reconciliations have been completed.
  • Preparation of management accounts and Board packs.
  • Preparation of the annual budgets and financial forecasts for the group
  • Cash flow forecasting and planning
  • Manage monthly payment runs and ensure cash controls are implemented and maintained.
  • Assist with the implementation of the new Sage Intact financial reporting system and establish new financial controls and procedures for the new system to support the growth in the group.
  • Take a proactive role in questioning processes in place with a view to continuous improvement.
  • Create new value adding reports to identify results, trends, and financial forecasts.
  • Preparation of the statutory financial accounts for all applicable entities ensuring compliance with FRS102.
  • Manage and co-ordinate the annual audit.
  • Manage the fund and inter-company re-charges.
  • Oversee the employee expense controls and manage the compliance of group policy via the Concur system.
  • Oversee the integration of data from Concur into the Sage Intact system.
  • Oversight of various administrative and office needs, including benefits and other aspects of human resources, IT, facilities, office leases, supply agreements and insurance
  • Supervise and manage financial department staff, including accountants and financial assistant.
  • Assist with the submission of annual returns for UK group companies.
  • Review regulatory returns for entities regulated in a variety of jurisdictions.
  • Manage the submission of finance specific FCA returns.
  • Review monthly payroll files.
  • Manage the preparation and submission of the quarterly VAT returns.
  • Ensure compliance of the group with multijurisdictional VAT requirements in Ireland and the UK including reverse charge VAT
Experience required:
  • Accounting: ACA/CA qualification. Good knowledge of financial accounting, including technical accounting - minimum 1-2 years PQE
  • Financial Controls: Understanding of controls, with an ability to critically evaluate them.
  • IT Skills: Must be computer literate with strong Excel skills and have the ability to learn new systems.
  • Risk Awareness: Ability to understand financial risk and use it to influence decisions and critically appraise processes.
  • Interpersonal: Communication, organisation, and presentation skills together with the ability to confidently deal with multiple stakeholders.
Skills & experience desired for this role:
  • Experience of Sage Intacct
  • FCA regulatory knowledge
