Job Description

c.£100k + bonus | Buckinghamshire / LondonThe OpportunityFinatal are retained on a search for a high-growth SaaS business which is currently mid-cycle within Private Equity ownership.At a pivotal point in the businesses growth journey, the CFO is looking to appoint a Group Financial Controller who will not only be responsible for running the day-to-day finance team, but also work with the wider business on cross-functional operationalexcellence, driving significant improvements in business automation. As the CFO has completed multiple private equity deal cycles, this will also be a fantastic opportunity for the successful candidate to be mentored.The business is currently operating in 8 different geographies and has further plans to grow inorganically and expand not only across the globe, but also through new product offerings. Longer term planning will be to get finance exit ready and supportthe CFO and wider leadership team with this strategy.The role:

  • Taking full ownership of running day to day finance, including ownership of all controls and processes, and ensuring rigour across the dept.
  • Work with the wider SLT to drive improvements across operations, focusing on operational excellence across the business.
  • Become the go-to for commercial support, particularly around commercial agreements and non-standard deals with the sales team.
  • Support the CFO on due diligence for target acquisitions alongside post-deal integration
  • Responsibility for long and short-term cash flow forecasting, alongside credit control, FX and transfer pricing; providing performance analysis & variance commentary of budget vs forecast
  • Internal lead for production of financial statements and audit.
  • Provide leadership and management to the Finance team through coaching and development plans, ensuring future growth is managed effectively across the team
About you:Given the progression opportunity, this role would suit a driven candidate with an accounting background who possesses strong commercial instincts / the ability to work with SLT, an excellent work ethic and experience in a SaaS business or a PE-backed businessmore generally.
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA)
  • Experience of having led a finance team in a sub £50m business
  • A strong technical accountant with good knowledge of statutory accounting, processes and controls
  • Highly skilled people manager
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • SaaS industry experience and/or private equity experience advantageous
