Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a fully-qualified (ACA or ACCA) Group Accounting Manager based in Head Office in London on a permanent basis.You will be responsible for the delivery of the timely and effective control and production of all Group level internal reporting requirements, including the monthly MIS report and the consolidation of Group reporting. You will also be responsible for ensuringa consistent approach to reporting of financial information and compliance with all Group policies and procedures in respect of accounting and financial control and assist with the production of the Group Annual Report and accounts. Lastly, the Bank operateswith a hybrid working model (3 days from the office and 2 from home).Profile Criteria:

  1. Fully-Qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) candidate with a solid foundation of accounting experience and month-end and reconciliations experience
  2. Must possess banking sector experience
  3. Hands-on involvement with all core month-end tasks
  4. Confident user of Excel (pivot tables, lookups)
  5. The role will also help with payroll (P11D’s, etc.) but experience in this area is not necessary
  6. Experience using Business Central (which is a MS Dynamics accounting tool) would be very much welcomed (but is not essential and can be picked up / learned)
Coverage / Accountabilities:
  • Lead the production of the company financial submissions, maintaining best-in-class practices and financial disciplines in partnership with outsourced providers.
  • Implementation and review of completeness and line of sight controls that will support financial returns providing analytical review.
  • Responsible for the delivery of the end-to-end monthly close processes and associated Company reporting requirements, in a timely basis and ensure accuracy.
  • Maintaining finance policies and processes, ensuring compliance with Company policies and that good internal controls are in place.
  • Completion of the year end statutory accounting packs for the Company in line with the timetable.
  • Ensure monthly schedules are prepared and checked for all key items in the financial statements.
  • Lead the management with external auditors on the statutory accounts.
  • Review processes for the financial reporting deliverables in order to identify & implement improvements to improve controls and better utilise systems capabilities.
  • In addition to these functions, employees are required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required.
  • Maintenance of data which is compatible with the automated regulatory reporting system.
  • Ensuring all financial and non-financial data used for the financial returns have been fully reconciled and where appropriate, substantiated with other teams (risk and operations).
Responsibilities:
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts of the Group.
  • Maintaining company records (with assistance), including processing payments and routine statutory returns.
  • Overseeing sales / purchase invoices and vendor management.
  • Cash flow management and forecasting.
  • Update monthly analyses of key nominal ledger accounts.
  • Monthly journal entry management.
  • Helping in preparing HMRC and other regulatory returns, such as the VAT return.
  • Review of P11D, employee pensions, benefits and on-boarding of Group employee related activities.
  • Maintaining company records, including processing payments and routine statutory returns.
  • Produce non-financial data and respond to ad hoc requests from senior Finance management, business unit managers and other Finance teams.
  • Compliant with technical expertise and changes to various accounting rules and regulation.
  • Support the year end audit process by providing the necessary analysis and supporting documents.
  • Support Group Finance team depending on business needs.
  • Delivering process efficiency and reporting improvements.
  • Adherence to agreed standards of management reporting and ensuring relevant and consistent financial information and metrics are applied across the Group.
  • You will support significant and high-profile Finance transformation activities and Group initiatives.
  • Responsible for tax matters and getting the Group compliant.
  • Compliant with technical expertise and changes to various accounting rules and regulation.
Experience, knowledge and skills required:
  • Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA).
  • Significant experience of leading the production and delivery of financial reporting.
  • Detailed knowledge of financial reporting requirements and legislative frameworks.
  • Sound and up to date knowledge of International financial reporting standards (including IFRS 9).
  • Experience of managing and motivating staff.
  • You will be a fully qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA) with a strong background in financial reporting, audit and financial control. The ability to produce reporting within regulatory frameworks at a Group level would be highly beneficial.
  • In addition, the capability to work closely with stakeholders at all levels, both Finance and non-Finance, is key to this role.
