Job Description

The VacancyTo assist the Technology and Third Party Governance Manager, Head of Technology Governance and IT Director in the achievement of the IT Strategy and associated plans in respect of Technology Governance. To maintain and enhance the Companys Technology Governance and Data control methodologies. Key Responsibilities:

  • To complete activities related to the governance and control of Winterfloods technology, including, but not limited to:
    • GDPR / Data Protection compliance
    • Oversight of Market Data and exchange agreements
    • Oversight of IT Policy framework
    • Assist with audit response and related tasks
    • Assist with the creation of management information and monthly reporting obligations to various internal and external stakeholders.
    • Assist with the implementation of data governance initiatives
    • Assist with the implementation of the Technology Strategy.
Technology Governance: Assist with:
  • The Implementation & maintenance of IT policies, Data Protection policies and IT security policies
  • IT Invoice reconciliations as part of the budget management process
  • Access control reviews of key systems
  • Supporting the Technology & Third Party Governance Manager with the handling of their vendor relationships both with potential and current suppliers.
  • To act as a point of contact for internal and external IT audits, ensuring that action points are resolved and closed appropriately
  • Reporting audit programme progress to the Head of Technology Governance, IT Director and senior stakeholders in respect of audit activity, and referring issues upwards as and when appropriate.
  • Creation and presentation management information and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) related to the function, to key internal stakeholders via a number of channels including relevant committees.
  • To assist with the completion of IT projects, inclusive of:
    • Procurement exercises in respect of the businesses technological requirements
    • Analysis of what-if scenarios with respect to the impact of changes to the current technological environment
    • Cyber threats / counter-threats
    • Ad hoc projects
Market Data:Assist with:
  • liaising with relevant stakeholders in the Company to understand the Companys market data requirements.
  • The completion of cyclical analysis of business data requirements and licence coverage against current provision. Presentation of key findings to internal stakeholders.
  • Sourcing, qualifying and management of relevant market data streams.
  • Supporting the business with market data change projects.
  • Liaising with stock exchange and data vendor contacts in order to ensure the sufficient provision of data services to Winterflood, ongoing licencing compliance and appropriate cost control
Data Protection:Assist with:
  • Providing advice to internal stakeholders on Data Protection and related regulatory compliance
  • Assisting the team with data protection incident management and responding to Data Subject Rights Requests
  • Supporting data protection training and awareness initiatives across the company
  • Assisting the business in developing the appropriate policies relating to data protection
  • Ensuring documentation and records are kept up to date including identifying trends and analysis
  • Ensuring changes are communicated to the appropriate internal staff and subcontractors, as required
  • To maintain ones own commitment to CPD in respect of the roles core responsibilities
  • To complete all training as considered mandatory by the Company
Systems & Controls:
  • To adhere to the internal governance, systems & controls, and management information in place for the Information Technology Department.
  • To assist the Technology & Third Party Governance Manager in the assessment of, monitoring and adherence to current processes and controls, relating to the Technology Governance Analyst role
  • To adhere to the rules of the Financial Conduct Authority and the Companys compliance manual, staff handbook and IT security manual
Communication & External Relations:
  • To represent the Company and communicate effectively with Group shareholders, clients, employees, regulators, legal authorities, professional associations and other relevant stakeholders

Requirements:Skills & Experience:
  • Educated to a minimum A Level or equivalent
  • An Interest in technology
  • An interest in financial markets and current industry trends
  • A basic understanding of GDPR and MiFID II
  • A basic understanding of risk management
  • A basic understanding of the uses of financial market data
