Job Description

Graduate Research Engineer (Postgraduate) Location: LondonSalary: up to £55K DOEJob Sectors: Postgraduate / Mechanical / R&DOur client is a successful and fast-growing R&D company based in Central London, with expertise in engineering and design, developing cutting edge technology. They are hiring for a Graduate Research Engineer to help formalise their R&D cycles via publishingcurrent and future technology and aiding in the refinement of industry-leading technology into patentable features. Working within an experienced team, the successful candidate will initially develop an understanding of the core science of their technology, validate using sound theoretical & empirical methods, and disseminate the findings to the scientific & engineeringcommunityPrinciple Responsibilities

  • Aid in the development of new intellectual property with an eye for real world product execution.
  • Set up a rigorous research methodology to streamline R&D cycles, paying key attention to variable control and realising/extracting the crux of a design.
  • Disseminate original research papers of current work and future research.
  • Lead the conduction of experiments, leaning on technicians to build and maintain testing equipment.
Skills / Experience / QualificationsEssential
  • Masters or PhD in engineering from a top University
  • Mechanical bias
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with evidence of a previously written research paper or final year thesis.
  • Experience with mechanical based experimentation
  • Ability to work at the HEXR Lab (E3 3TZ)
Desirable
  • Have published a research paper
  • Experience in building and running finite element models
  • Experience with programming (Matlab, SQL, Python etc)
  • Experience with patentable ideas
