Job Description

Morgan Hunt are working exclusively with a Trade Union to appoint a Governance Officer on a permanent basis.Job Title:Governance OfficerSalary: £36,500Contract: PermanentMain Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support and work closely with the Chair and the Board
  • Maintain the rules of the organisation, code of conduct and register of members interests to ensure compliance and regular reviews and update takes place.
  • Coordinate elections of the board ensuring legislative compliance
  • Administer the induction process for new members to the Board and the appoint to committees.
  • Provide support to the CEO and Executive team as required, working with colleagues as part of the Executive Support team.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant aspects of company, charity and trade union law, conduct periodic governance reviews and provide guidance wherever required.The ideal candidate will have:
  • Public sector/not for profit experience (Preferably worked for a Trade union/Regulator/Membership body)
  • Previously supported Executive Boards and/or Senior Management teams
  • An understanding of the fundamental implications of Charity Law, Company Law and Trade Union Law.
