Job Description

Salary: Up to £44 k (dependent on experience), plus generous pension scheme, flexible working cultureTerm: PermanentWorking hours: 35 per week full-time. They are a professional body for all statisticians and data analysts.As a charity, they advocate for the key role of statistics and data in society, and work to ensure that policy formulation and decision making are informed by evidence for the public good.We are seeking a candidate with strong operational management and administrative skills to provide support for the board of trustees and other committees. The postholder will work closely with the CEO (Chief Executive Officer) and Head of Policy to managethe governance cycle of meetings and develop meeting agendas. They will be responsible for setting meeting dates, coordinating, and circulating meeting papers and taking accurate minutes. The postholder will also serve as a key point of contact for staff andmembers and will co-ordinate an annual calendar of reports and activities.Our ideal candidate will have excellent organisational and time management skills, and great attention to detail. Strong written communication and interpersonal skills are also essential for dealing with the wide range of stakeholders connected to this post.The team are friendly, approachable, professional staff, and are looking forward to welcoming the new postholder into their team.Pension and benefits: Our defined contribution pension scheme can be joined after three months in post. Your contributions of up to 8% of salary will be double matched by the Society (making a maximum contribution by the Society of 16%). A training budget,season ticket loan, cycle to work scheme and employee assistance programme are also available.Location: The office is in central London, close to Moorgate and Old Street tube stations. They offer flexible working arrangements: the office is currently open twice a week and attendance encouraged but not mandatory depending on the role. In person attendancefor certain meetings is required (including all staff/team meetings and governance/committee meetings that take place in person).Holidays: 25 days per annum, plus bank holidays and an additional shut down between Christmas and New Year.Person specification:Essential

  • Excellent organisational and logistical skills, to organise committee meetings and collate and circulate papers in a timely and reliable manner
  • Ability to manage own time
  • Good attention to detail and proofreading skills
  • Diary management skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills, able to earn trust of committee chairs and members
  • Good written communication skills, able to take clear and effective minutes
  • Discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality where needed
  • A basic understanding of the fundamental principles of GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations)
Desirable
  • Experience of managing charity governance processes
  • Interest in or experience of statistics, research, or other aspects of the Society’s work
