Job Description

We are an organisation that has charitable status and this helps us to drive forward our mission of reinvesting our income to deliver better patient outcomes.Job SummaryThe Theatres Governance Lead will be focusing the effective delivery of clinical governance and risk activities across Theatres at The London Clinic, to ensure the department establishes, sustains and operates to an effective risk management system, and organisation wide governance framework which supports the delivery of safe and effective patient care.

  • Job Type: This is a full-time, permanent position, working 37.5 hours per week.
  • Salary:Highly competitive, depending on skills and experience (Band 7)

  • Duties & Responsibilities
  • Create a culture where clinical governance and patient safety, in particular risk management, is perceived as essential to the care and wellbeing of clients, patients and staff.
  • Leading the department’s processes for ensuring compliance with the Duty of Candour regulations within the CBU.
  • Responsible for leading on the coordination and management of serious incidents and learning from all adverse events within the department.
  • Ensure that all regulatory, policy requirements or best practice relevant to quality of care are identified and implemented effectively within the department.
  • Ensure that appropriate arrangements are in place for the audit of clinical care and all relevant supporting systems and processes. Monitor the delivery of actions arising from such audits and reviews to ensure effective implementation.
  • Support the preparation of a monthly Patient Safety & Quality report for discussions.
  • Skills &Experience
  • Registered Practitioner/Nurse/ODP with NMC or HCPC registration.
  • Post qualification Scrub/Anaesthetics/Recovery experience within an operating theatres environment.
  • Experience of clinical governance, risk management, as well as undertaking risk assessments, root cause analysis and contributing to the local risk register, investigating incidents and complaints.
  • Awareness and understanding of NHSLA standards, assessment process, and the role of CQC.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team with the ability to develop team working and training staff.
