Job Description

Healthcare membership organisation and trade union is seeking an experienced Governance Engagement & Projects Manager to support their Governance Support Directorate at their London headquarters.This is an interim position to start ASAP until July 2022 initially and will pay £35.85 per hour PAYE.The Governance Engagement & Projects Manager will manage and provide leadership to the Governance engagement and projects team in order to support effective governance of the organisation, for example: Elections and appointments, Induction, learning & developmentprogrammes for members, Industrial relations ballots, Member engagement, Governance policies and processes, awards such as the prestigious Fellowships and Awards of Merit.The ideal Governance Engagement & Projects Manager will have the following knowledge, skills and experience.

  • Strong corporate governance background with a sound knowledge of legal structures, the different governance arrangements, constitutional documentation and decision-making frameworks and role and responsibilities of governors in the structures
  • Evidence of management and delivery of election and appointments processes including managing tendering processes and contracts for election and ballot services
  • A background in governance in a complex organisation
  • Evidence of solid track record of putting in place sound strong corporate governance systems and processes to fully comply with best practice and standards
  • Evidence of leading and managing a busy small deadline led high performing service delivery team
  • Experience of managing and delivery of significant projects and complex processes
  • Evidence of embracing use of new technology and recent experience of managing democratic processes online
  • Strong experience of delivering governance in a membership organisation/trade union and putting member participation and engagement at the heart of decision making
  • Ability to work effectively in a political environment building effective relationships with elected members and demonstrating political sensitivity
  • Excellent project management and process design skills
