Google Cloud EngineerFully RemoteOutside IR35£400-500 per dayUnify are super proud to be exclusively representing a rapidly expanding Microsoft business who are currently undertaking significant programmes of work and are looking for experienced Google Cloud Engineers to help plan, design, configure/build, and documentGoogle cloud hosting services.The successful applicant will have solid hands-on experience of project design and implementation, defining solutions based on best practice and driving service adoption cross multi and hybrid-cloud environments.The candidate should be experienced in deploying applications, monitoring operations, and managing enterprise solutions. They will be experienced in the use of Google Cloud Console and the command-line interface to perform common platform-based tasks tomaintain one or more deployed solutions that leverage Google-managed or self-managed services on Google Cloud. Skills and qualifications

• Advance Google Cloud knowledge and experience working and migrating workloads from on-prem to Google Cloud.
• Experience of managing services using Cloud Console, Cloud Shell and Cloud SDK.
• Deployment of resources using Infrastructure as Code, including experience of Cloud Foundation Toolkit, and Config Connector in Google Kubernetes.
• CI/CD pipeline implementations using open-source tooling (e.g., Jenkins, Spinnaker, GitLab, Concourse
• Setting up cloud solution environments, including resource hierarchy, organisational policies, assigning user and group permissions and managing billing.
• Configuring compute resources, including Compute Engine, Google Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions.
• Configuring data storage options, including Cloud SQL, BigQuery, Firestore, Cloud Spanner, Cloud Bigtable and choosing storage options, e.g., Zonal persistent disk, Regional balanced persistent disk, Standard, Nearline, Coldline, Archive)
• Configuring network resources, such as load balancing, Cloud DNS, Cloud NAT, and web application firewall (Google Cloud Armor)
• Deployment of Cloud Monitoring and Logging Agents.
• Deploying and implementing Google Kubernetes Engine resources such as Google Kubernetes EngineVPC.
• Managing Identity and Access Management (IAM) policies
• Managing service accounts.
• Understanding of Information Security principles including GDPR
• Practical experience of implementing technical solutions to ensure data security
• Previous experience in support and management role
• Experience with designing and configuring/building cloud hosting infrastructure as a service using Google Cloud
• Team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent problem-solving ability
• Can do attitude to find innovative solutions to challenging problems

Desirable skills and experience

• Experience of designing data processing systems and data pipeline systems using services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Apache Beam, Apache Spark and Hadoop ecosystem, Pub/Sub, Apache Kafka
• Implementation of message brokers, message queues, middleware, service-oriented architecture, serverless functions.
• Migrating from on-premises to cloud (Data Transfer Service, Transfer Appliance, Cloud Networking)
• Experience of machine learning models such as AI Platform Prediction and Training, BigQuery ML, Kubeflow, Spark ML
• Configuring Google Cloud Directory Sync
• Planning and implementing Google Workspace
• Experience of managing multi-cloud solutions
• Experience of Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Oracle Cloud.

Qualifications The preferred candidate will have one or more of the following qualifications to demonstrate their knowledge:

• Google Associate Cloud Engineer
• Google Professional Data Engineer
• Google Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer
• Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer
• Google Professional Collaboration Engineer
