Job Description

GLOBAL INVESTMENT RESEARCH Goldman Sachs develops global client-focused research in economics, portfolio strategy, derivatives and equity and credit securities. The Global Investment Research division produces fundamental, value-added research and analysis of industries, companies andeconomies, mining big data that enters markets around the world each day to identify game-changing insights. Our clients use these insights and investment ideas to develop their strategies. We deliver original, client-focused research in the equity, fixed-income,currency, and commodities markets. Our research teams continually identify and analyse financial information, strategic issues and trends on a regional and global scale. From macroeconomic forecasts to individual stock analysis, our team develops tools and insights to help shape investment strategiesfor clients and the firm. ROLE SUMMARY We are seeking an Analyst to join our European Economics team, based in London. Their role will include, but not be limited to:

  • Developing quantitative models to forecast European growth and inflation, with particular focus on projecting monthly economic indicators Interpret and comment on high-frequency economic data releases
  • Generating unique, thematic written research on the European economic and financial outlook
  • Presenting economic views to external and internal clients
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED
  • A Masters degree in Economics from a top tier institution
  • A maximum of 1-2 years relevant experience, although this is not essential
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of Spanish or any other European language is a plus, but not essential
  • Ability to work in a close-knit team
