Were seeking a GIS Specialist for our client, a national charity that protects parks and green spaces across the UK. This is a hybrid role where youll be based at the organisations head office in Shepherds Bush for a minimum of two days a week.As GIS Specialist, youll join a small team leading GIS capabilities. The role will be responsible for the ongoing delivery of the successful Green Space Index as well as producing other spatial analysis and data insights to increase engagement and influencingopportunities.Responsibilities* Undertake GIS data preparation and data management using ArcGIS mapping software and spatial analysis tools* Identify patterns and trends through spatial mapping of data, extract relevant information from the gathered geospatial data and apply analytical methods to solve problems* Research, process and interpret large sets of local, regional and national data to inform the work of the organisation* Work collaboratively across multi-disciplinary teams to iterate analytical tools and insight to facilitate engagement and influencing opportunities* Manage and prioritise a variety of data requests to inform external engagement and internal strategy* Provide a good interface across the team, interpret and communicate findings and GIS concepts clearly to non-GIS users* In conjunction with the Research and Policy Manager identify opportunities to add value and evolve existing GIS analysis by working with external data scientists and other specialisms* Produce high-quality outputs and presentation of geographical information in user-focused tools and displaysSkills and Experience* Experience in LA or land referencing/mapping/cartology would be beneficial* Minimum 2 years experience in ArcGISBenefits* Annual leave 25 days plus bank holidays and discretionary close over Christmas* Additional annual leave day accrued for every year of service up to a total of 30 days (plus bank holidays) * Season ticket loan * Group pension scheme with matched employer contributions up to 5% salary * Death in service benefit * Support to ensure accessible working and training budget for staff CPD This is a great opportunity to occupy a central role in an important organisation and provide the spatial data and tools to help position the charity as a leading provider of evidence-based solutions relating to the provision and protection of parks and greenspaces.Like the sound of this role If you have the skill and experience, then we want to talk to you!
