Job Description

New opportunity available for a Geotechnical Engineer to join a respected multidisciplinary Engineering practice on an initial 6 month contract basis working from home. You will be joining a specialist rail team, to undertake work in relation to a number of tunnels and shafts.Key roles and responsibilities will include:

  • Carry out Geotechnical design and calculations
  • Write geotechnical reports (data interpretation and design reports)
  • Produce design solutions, reports, specifications and drawings which cover a range of project requirements including new builds to modification, maintenance and refurbishment
  • To be aware of the scope of work and the fee related to it and to monitor and report any requests for changes in scope
  • The scope of the job includes, but is not limited to:
  • Geotechnical ground investigation
  • Foundation and basement design
  • Geotechnical design calculations
  • Stability assessment
  • On-site supervision of geotechnical work by contractors
  • Essential skills, experience and attributes:
  • Experience working in a similar role
  • Degree qualified in Civil or Geotechnical engineering
  • Experience with data recording, and carrying out asset surveys
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good organisational skills, with the ability to meet strict deadlines and prioritise workloads
