Pay: MPS/UPS Start Date: September 2021We are seeking to appoint anoutstanding Geography teacher. Our Geography Department thrives on the notionsof inclusion, creativity and enthusiasm for the subject. We deliver a broadcurriculum building skills through the teaching. The Geography team is led by aHead of Geography and works closely with the other Humanities subjects, as suchit is anticipated that the post holder will be able to teach within one of theother Humanities subject areas (Religious Studies, History, Sociology, A LevelLaw). The ideal candidate will bepassionate about the Geography curriculum and how this can be taught in aninspiring way to maximise exam success, whilst developing a love for thesubject and an engagement with all of the subjects within the discipline. Weare looking for someone who can spark students passion for the subject, and tohelp students to lead successful future lives. The ability to extend studentsengagement beyond the school day, through extra-curricular would be anadvantage. The department attained strongresults last summer, in both GCSE and A level Geography, and we expect thisstrong acheivement to continue across the coming year. Our ideal candidate will display:A passion for teaching Geographywith evidence of enabling students to surpass expectations.Experience in teaching classroomGeography at Key Stages 3-5 with a good curriculum knowledge and understandingof GCSE and A-Level Geography requirements.Experience of using data to pushstudents to (and beyond) their targets.Wilmington Grammar School forGirls is an Outstanding school with a strong track record of achievement.
