Part-Time - 30 hours per week, term time only (40 weeks worked)Based at the Central Campus, BrightonWe are seeking to appoint 2 x General Technicians to work 30 hours per week, term time only, to support teaching and learning and the smooth, safe, dayto day running of the Hair and Beauty specialist work areas by providing general organisational support for lecturing staff and students and supporting the supervision of practical hair and beauty activities.This will require a wide range of tasks including,monitoring stock levels, supporting the sourcing and ordering of materials/consumables/ equipment as required, the preparation of teaching resources/materials/consumables /equipment for practical sessions, demonstrations, and open access sessions.Other responsibilitiesinclude supporting the effective management of both consumable and physical resources including the safe movement and storage of resources. Finally keeping all specialist work areas, storage facilities, equipment, and machinery outstandingly clean and tidyin line with Health and Safety (H &S) requirements.You will require:- Relevant specialist subject area qualifications in hair, beauty or holistic studies. English and Maths at level 2 or above Relevant statutory sector qualifications/certificates, or willingnessto gain First Aid at Work Certificate, or willingness to gain It is also essential that you have experience of working in the hair, beauty or holistic sector industry environment , experience of using specialist tools/materials/products and of undertakingspecialist processes and techniques.Interview will be held on 18 August 2021
