Job Description

The Role This role is for a Data Business Analyst within the Global Chief Data Office Data Operations team.Operating primarily across the Finance data domain (and other domains), as part of a service team oriented around operationally delivering the business services, the role offers the opportunity to engage with various groups within the Firm to deliver their business requirements while ensuring that these and the delivery align to the various Strategic initiatives currently underway as part of GCDO Data Operations Transformation. There will be opportunities to enhance business processes and the requirement to create test cases and support functional testing and UAT.The role offers the opportunity to engage with various teams within Global Chief Data Office (MDM (Source & PMDM), Client Interface, Finance Operations, Reporting & Analytics) and also within the Firm including Operations, Business Units, Risk and IT to ensure delivery of business requirements specific to the Global Chief Data Office Data function. In addition to helping drive business requirements there are also a number of other initiatives linked to this role that will need to be undertaken supporting monthly Operational Data acquisition cycles, identifying opportunities for improvements and leading on projects to deliver new capability to Data Operations.This is a challenging and rewarding role offering the candidate the opportunity to work on varied projects.The Data Business Analyst will help to develop data standards, data policies and the data dictionary as part of governance and control of data as well as process assessment for automation and adoption of PWCs Digitising the Network tools.Primary Responsibilities: Work with stakeholders across GCDO Data Operations and other GCDO teams in order to deliver detailed business requirements. Be the point person for collation of requirements and subsequent sharing and obtaining of sign offs. Interface with the BPM programme to document change and impacts of migration of Operating model with adopting new processes especially EMFI. Work with Reporting & Analytics team to document impact to existing processes and new data models for consumption ultimately by project sponsors. Work with stakeholders and technology to define testing approach and strategy and help execute this strategy during test phases of project Working with technology partners to develop the functional and technical design to support business processing requirements across transaction reporting technology and upstream business technology Collaborate with management to ensure common standards and best practice are implemented within the global Network.Project Responsibilities: Work with subject matter experts within the business to drive developing content and publication of business rules, standards, data lineage and data models for all business critical data sets and data items Capture and analyse Finance process data requirements Work closely with business SMEs, Data Operations team and Technology to ensure that business processes, system functionality and data are aligned Work with the Demand & Delivery lead to ensure delivery throughout the lifecycle of a project Track and communicate project status to wider team and management Collaborate with the Project team on test plan development, design test strategy and manage the UAT process Develop an effective network of stakeholders to facilitate easy integration of changes quicklyKey Deliverables: Business process definition Data Policy and Standards Business Rules Register Data Quality Dashboard Reporting Business Data Insights Data Remediation approach Data Remediation Plan Data Quality BAU handover document Communications PlanSkills and ExperienceRequired: Knowledge of Finance processes Ability to interact and work effectively at all levels of the organization Understanding of the finance and business lifecycle and the various downstream user requirements of client engagements and supporting (financial) data. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability for tasks Ability to multitask and work in a fast pace environment Detail oriented and ability to adhere to strict timelines Proficient in MS-Excel, MS-Word, MS-Visio, MS-Project & MS-PowerPoint Understanding of regulatory controls such as Network Standards, NIS Policy and Privacy policies. Business Analysis experience developing business requirements, matrix tracing, business process definition and data documentation e.g. Meta data, data models. Understanding of business rule and data standards A good understanding of the challenges faced by business users when attempting to report on data sourced from different systems and based on different definitions. A practical appreciation of how poor data quality undermines the ability of decision makers from using that data with confidence to understand and manage the business.Preferred 2+ years experience in a services industry in an operational or change environment Global experience working with remote colleagues Experience and/or understanding of Finance Operations data flow processes. Knowledge of/with specific reporting tools such as Tableau, Qlikview, PowerBI or SQL ServiceNow knowledge - configuration Digital tool knowledge such as UIPath, Alteryx.
