Our client is a large multinational bank who is looking to bring onboard a FX Support Engineer to join their trading support team. This would be a hybrid role based in London with 3 days in the office, due to the nature of the banks operations the teamworks across 3 shift patterns throughout the UK day, the latest finish being Friday at 10 PM on a rotational basis. Role DescriptionThis role will require the successful applicant to engage with internal customers within the bank on a day-to-day basis providing support as well as troubleshooting problems, performing upgrades ensuring a reliable service across the banks FX trading platform Responsibilities• Monitor, deploy,supportandoperatefront-office trading systems processing • Interact with a wide spectrum of people within the bank, including front office support teams, system administrators, developers and traders. • Perform regular system checks and analysis and provide reports of system functioning and service level. • Troubleshoot and restore systemprocessing in event of incidents andproblems. • Handle in-bound service requests and questions. • Perform proactive event management Required Skills, Experience and Qualifications• 5 years previous experience in application support with the financial services sector. • The candidate will have strong functional knowledge of FX products and have a good working knowledge of financial products. • The candidate will have a proven technical track record with the tools used to provide first line application support for cloud-based apps. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Understanding of networking fundamentals and experience in diagnosing connectivity issues. • Understanding and experience working with messaging protocols (SOAP, JMS, MQ, FIX or others). • Strong attention to detail, self-management, initiative, discipline, and follow-through. • Exceptionalproblem-solvingability. • Familiarity withdatabases and message-based software systems. Preferred Skills, Experience and Qualifications• Trading support experience/exposure to trading protocols; e.g. FIX is a plus. • Familiarity with at least one scripting or object-oriented programming language. • Service Management knowledge.
