Fund of Funds Principal / Director of Investments - Private Equity

Our client is a Private Equity Investment firm based in London, dedicated to investments in Web3 and AI related technologies. With Web 3.0 and AI gaining further traction to become the new normal, our clients current fund of funds will provide risk-managedexposure to this rapidly growing asset class through a diversified portfolio focused on early-stage investments in Web 3.0 and AI technology/companies. They are now looking for a Fund of Funds Principal / Director of Investments to join their expanding team. Each fund will be dedicated to and focused on a specific asset class/technology in the AI and Web3 space. Our client has long-term plans and exceptionalexpectations to deliver phenomenal performance based on intensive analysis and rigorous research of Web3 -related assets market. Core Responsibilities:As a Principal Investment Director, you will be working directly with and supporting the CIO of the fund. This is a senior role, and your main responsibilities will include validating the investment opportunities proposed by the rest of the team, reviewing/discussingthem with the CIO, and presenting your findings to the entire Investment Committee. The opportunity to grow within this role and become a partner in the firm within short timeframe is a strong possibility for the right candidate. • You will be a key member of the principal investment team, focusing on a broad range of activities to identify new opportunities. • Conduct sourcing, investment research, due diligence, and analysis of potential investments and develop investment recommendations. • The role also includes advocating for operational and process changes to move towards a more data driven organisational paradigm. • Financial analysis and modelling of potential investments, and lead the due diligence process for potential investments from start to finish. • Work with the researchers and analysts to verify the best opportunities. • Develop deep understanding and working knowledge of Web3 and AI to support research analysis. • Stay up-to-date on development within the industry. • Provide forward-looking views with a high degree of transparency to Senior Leadership Team and other stakeholders. Candidate Requirements:• A proven track record of investing in Web3, AI or FinTech as a VC or FOF. • Minimum of 10 years working experience in investments, of which a minimum of 5 years is working in VC Firms/PE firms or Fund of Funds. • Minimum 3 years as a Principal/Director, also in a VC/PE Firm or FOF VC. • Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as strong analytic, problem solving and decision-making skills. • Must be able to multi-task and prioritise in a fast-paced environment and work independently with deadlines requiring a quick turnaround. • Demonstrable ability to independently source deal flow. • Strong financial modelling skills. • Strong analytical orientation. • Practical experience with Web3. • Strong understanding of Web3 market dynamics. • Must have strong intellectual curiosity, an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for digital assets and financial markets.
