Job Description

Fund Accountant London £65.000 £75000 plus £10,000 bonusBased in Mayfair in London my client is a leading Private equity Real Estate company and we are exclusively retained to assist in the appointment of a Fund AccountantAt present their funds are dealt with by an external provider but their intention is to being them in house for better controls etc.So a vacancy exists for a Fund AccountantThe role

  • Internalise accounting assist the finance director in brining the accounting function in house
  • Preparation of financials: prepare quarterly management accounts for a group consisting of ~20 entities, plus various GP, co-invest and carry vehicles. Entities are established across the UK and Jersey with accounts being prepared under FRS 102 and IFRS;
  • Audit: work with external auditors in preparation of annual audit to meet investor reporting deadlines;
  • Tax returns: oversee tax advisor who prepares the annual tax returns for each of the entities in the structure. Special focus on REIT specific requirements;
  • VAT: preparation and filing of monthly VAT returns;
  • CIS: preparation and filing of monthly CIS returns and payments statements;
  • Distributions: work with tax advisor and administrator to calculate REIT compliant distribution calculations. Also work with administrators to ensure profits are correctly distributed up the structure;
  • Budgeting: work with Finance Associate in preparing the annual budget;
  • Debt: assisting the Finance Associate in reporting to the banks including quarterly reports and covenants;
The most suited candidate will be a team player with a hands-on approach and who is able to cover the wide spectrum of fund accounting requirements. This is an end-to-end role with ownership for the accounting, management reporting and auditing. The candidatewill need to be comfortable processing journals and preparing consolidations.Cultural fit is essential: we are looking for an enthusiastic person, keen to learn and grow with our business. Able to work under pressure and at times to short deadlines.Ideal candidates will satisfy the following requirements:
  • 2-5 years post accounting qualification (ACA / ACCA);
  • real estate investment management expertise (REIT a plus);
  • development projects experience;
  • tax expertise (VAT/CIS/CT);
  • experience with off shore, regulated, structures.
