The role is to support our asset and wealth management and insurance clients in navigating regulatory change with a focus on conduct regulation.The role will provide youwith the chance to develop, gain new skills and experiences and to work with a range of clients across the banking and investment firms sector. It offers a unique mix of client work, market profile activities, regulatory engagement and proposition incubationand would be suitable for individuals from a range of backgrounds and experiences.About us Joining FSRIFSRI acts as the engine room of PwCs FS risk and regulatory practice, supporting client teams in areas of risk and regulatory expertise, often actingas deep subject matter specialists. We track new developments that will affect our clients, and engage with a wide range of stakeholders including regulators in the UK, EU and supranationally. We focus on emerging trends in risk and regulation, seeking todevelop early points of view and thought leadership. We take a forward-looking view to new risk and regulatory issues, develop a deep understanding of the potential implications and use these insights to engage with clients and our client teams. Through theseactivities we develop the relationships, knowledge and skills to help clients with the important challenges they face. We work with a broad range of teams to support our clients, bringing a deep understanding of clients business and operational models, aswell as the wider issues affecting their businesses and the industry.Our team includes experts who cover asset and wealth management, banking and capital markets and insurance. The team includes risk, regulatory, legal and compliance professionals from a widerange of backgrounds including people from industry, auditors, lawyers, economists, industry bodies and policy makers and regulators.Who we are looking forWith the current pace of innovation, the impact of COVID and Brexit, climate change and the wider ESGagenda, we are entering a period of significant regulatory change. We are looking for ambitious, enthusiastic and agile individuals, who are looking to enhance their regulatory knowledge to be at the forefront of this change. The FSRI team has a key role to play in ensuring that PwC is known in the market as the best in class risk and regulatory practice, in interacting withplayers in the UK, EU and global financial services industry and in supporting the services we offer to our clients.Requirements ResponsibilitiesSupporting clients and client delivery teams in understanding the impact of conduct regulatory developments andsupervisory expectations for our clients. Occasionally acting as subject matter expert on engagementsUndertaking horizon scanning activities and identifying potential new opportunities for the firmContributing to the work of FSRI focusing on new regulatorydevelopments, wider themes and regulators policymaking, supervisory and enforcement activitiesProducing written analysis and information including thought leadership, client publications and blogs. Conducting research, training, speaking at client events,responding to consultation papers from relevant regulatory bodies etc.Providing input to the debate on development and application of policy, participating in developing Thought LeadershipEngaging with regulators and policy makers on areas of expertise, andsupporting the activity of FSRIs wider regulatory relations team.Skills requiredThe ideal candidate would be self-starting, motivated and collaborative. The ability to communicate clearly and build relationships with clients, internal stakeholders and policymakers is required. The ability to understand and communicate clearly the impact of conduct regulation and the FCAs approach to conduct supervision is a key skill. The candidate should be able to identify how risk and regulatory challenges will impact clients,as well as show an awareness of the wider issues affecting this sector. The following skills are required for this role:Essential skills:Excellent interpersonal, delivery and communication skills including using social media and other technologyAbility toprioritise tasks and meet deadlinesAbility to make new contacts, build strong relationships with clients and regulators, listen to and understand client needs An understanding of conduct regulation and the FCAs supervisory approach and the ability to developthis into an area of significant expertise. Knowledge of the asset and wealth management, and/or insurance sectors, including the business and operational models of clients in this sector Knowledge of UKs regulatory and supervisory structure, the regulatorydevelopment process for financial services and the current EU regulatory agendaDesire and ability to interpret the implications of regulatory changes and identify new opportunities to assist clients, taking into account wider issues such as changes in businessmodels, demographics and technology.
