French Translations Specialist

Job Description

Scentsy is looking for a French Translations Specialist to translate written content, provide written content, proof vendor translations, and coordinate translation services of content for Scentsys international markets.**This is a remote position, but candidates must be located in the United Kingdom*What You Would Do:

  • Proof, translate, edit, review, and provide content for print, web-based, video, and audio materials for non-English markets
  • Work with translation companies and Translations team to establish and maintain language, voice, tone, and country-specific style guides, glossaries, and specific Scentsy term dictionaries
  • Manage and provide translations for assigned projects utilizing translation software
  • Maintain all SDL and GroupShare assets (Translation Memory, TermBase, Auto-suggest dictionaries, Tokens, etc.) for language(s) of responsibility
  • Gather and distribute reference materials to vendors, as needed
  • Coordinate on-time delivery of translation files for specific projects to and from translators and to requestors
  • Track and report on the status of translation files and progress of projects
  • Communicate roadblocks, issues, and changes in delivery dates to Translation Project Coordinator or Translation Manager
  • Proof printed and digital copy for quality ensuring the accuracy of the translation, adherence to standards, style guide, glossaries, and other tools
  • Build and develop collaborative relationships with external translation firms and other Scentsy teams to ensure translated content is of the highest quality
  • Work with translation companies to reduce and resolve issues
  • Work with vendors to reduce quality issues to an acceptable level
  • Transcribe/translate one-off materials needed for other departments for use in communications
  • Perform all other assigned tasks and requirements as needed
You Should Have:
  • 2 years of professional translations experience
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
  • Requires fluency in French (Canada/France) and English (reading, writing, and speaking)
  • Experience translating documents from English to French
  • Experience with CAT tools
  • Specification and Description Language (SDL) certification for Trados Studio and MultiTerm
Things You Should Know & Be Able to Do:
  • Ability to read, write, and speak in English and French, fluently
  • Ability to prioritize projects, manage time effectively, and meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Ability to provide a high-level of customer service internally and externally
  • Strong editing skills with a high level of attention to detail
  • Must have a working knowledge of computers and all applicable software including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience utilizing translation software such as Trados or MultiTerm a plus
  • Ability to work at a computer station and view a computer screen for extended periods of time
