French Speaking EditorWe are looking for a new French speaking Editor to join a highly-motivated and fast-paced editorial team in our London office. Reporting to the South European Editor and our Commercial Director, the Reporter will have day-to-day support from our Citywire Selector’s Editor. The Reporter will be someone able to source and supply insightful and timely news in the local language for our sophisticated French investor audience.Citywire is a leading global provider of independent intelligence and insight about asset management.Our events, news, technology and analysis inform asset managers, investors and intermediaries around the world about the changing shape of a $75 trillion industry that channels the investments of millions of individuals, businesses and institutions.We employ around 240 people with offices in London, Brighton, New York, Munich, Milan and Singapore.We’re looking for an individual who is resourceful, communicative and able to meet tight deadlines with efficient and eye-catching copy.Main responsibilitiesAs an Editoron Citywire France, you will sit within our editorial team and will be responsible for our quarterly French magazines and website. This will involve clear and consistent coordination with the team, as well as being able to develop and maintain contacts through the fund management industry. The role will require you to:- Write in French compelling features to tight deadlines as well as creating concise and engaging video packages with the help of our in-house video team.- Grow a contact book of fund selectors, fund managers, private bankers and PR people from across the industry- Coordinate with the wider team on larger projects but also be able to work independently to develop and deliver larger stories- Cover a wide array of asset classes such as bonds, equities and alternatives as well as getting the inside story on how your contacts run their businesses globally- Break news that matters to investors and interview the fund managers they trust to generate returns on behalf of their clients.What you’ll need:Job specific Skills- Language skills – Native Level French- A good understanding of economics eager to build your knowledge in a specialist investment area.- Knowledge in finance with knowledge on asset management being a plus.Previous Experience-At least one years experience chasing news and breaking stories and educated to degree level or equivalent.In return, Citywire will provide you with a competitive salary as well as a comprehensive benefits package that includes*:- 25 days holiday per annum (rising to 28 days after three years’ service followed by 29 on your fourth year and 30 days after your fifth year) plus bank holidays,- Competitive private pension scheme with frequent visit from the provider,- Well-being initiative: access to an independent Employee Assistance Programme available 24/7,- Buddy-team lunches: you will be introduced to Citywire by one of our members of the team and will take you out for lunch during your first 6 months with us.
