Job Description

Dawson Levy Resourcing are delighted to be recrutiing for a specialist principal contractor/sub-contractor working in the field of structural strengthening and refurbishment of civil engineering works such as bridges, tunnels, stations and retaining walls.Our client have secured the Metallic Structures lot as Principal Contractor in Network Rails Southern Region Building & Civils Framework, which will run for between 3 and 8 years. We will need to design, plan and execute structural repair schemes to metallic overline bridges, river crossings, footbridges, gantries, etc. Works are expected to vary from simple blast and repaint to complete deck replacements.Framework Project Manager Location, Acton office, West LondonReporting to: Framework DirectorThe role is to execute work for NRs Southern Region Building and Civils Framework, involving sites in the Kent, Sussex and Wessex routes. It will include running several contracts at a time:

  • Safe and profitable running of our Rail sites including; managing the agents and sub-agents and, through them, the workforce (in-house and agency), sub-contractors, ordering materials and plant.
  • Preparing WPPs, TBs and other required paperwork.
  • Representing the company at site meetings with the client.
  • Arranging track access.
  • Monthly cost reporting.
  • Ensuring compliance with legislation, industry and client standards and ensuring all necessary competencies and permits are maintained across the workforce.
  • Assisting with the correct pricing of rail job estimates by advising estimators on labour and programme requirements, etc.
  • The successful candidate is likely to have been working in a site/project manager capacity in the rail industry for a minimum of 5 years, will understand the operational issues of rail and have the necessary knowledge to competently carry out these responsibilities.
