The ideal candidate must enjoy working in a fast paced, iterativeenvironment, generating practical strategic solutions in areas with no or little precedence and influencing to inspire change and results. The ideal candidate will assume a high level of ownership, be analytically minded with a strong focus on detail, andbe committed to quality deliverables.Responsibilities will include (but not limited to) the following:

• Owns the financial planning and actuals reporting for the different functions, month end close/ results (including review and challenge of accruals) and help provide timely commentary and variance analysis to support the understanding of the overall HSBCInnovation banking cost base/spend.
• Understand results and trends, providing analysis that allows teams to deliver on their operational responsibilities and take actions to improve performance.
• Lead the development of financial forecasts, risks and opportunities identification and ensure that the teams/functions clearly understand their budget headcount and all recruitment is in line with plan.
• Become a trusted business partner, advisor and build deep relationships with the relevant business leadership teams, cost teams across the group ( HBUK, GCMB and others ) and wider finance teams within HSBC Innovation banking
• Support with Intercompany charges/Indirect charges, maintain the appropriate review and reporting mechanisms to ensure tight cost control, identify risk and opportunities and interlock with the relevant areas during the yearly planning cycle.
• Help with establishing key business metrics for each of the teams/functions and proactively help identify potential areas for cost rationalization/optimization.
• Continue to look for ways to re-engineer, automate and right shore processes and operating model.

RequirementsSkills

• Solid Finance experience in business partnering/forecasting/budgeting costs.
• Data & Analytics skills and experience to query, aggregate, validate, and summarize data accurately. Experience with TM1 a plus or similar systems
• Ability to complete assigned responsibilities as a team and engage with business partners with a friendly, service-oriented attitude.
• Ability to work effectively in a complex work environment, including interacting well with increasingly senior partners and a wide variety of groups (financial planning & analysis team, accounting and other teams)
• Ability to manage workload in challenging and busy environment and to prioritise and balance multiple and often conflicting requests/timeframe.
• Strong organization, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence key stakeholders and speak about financials in an accessible style.
• Strong MS skillset especially Excel and PowerPoint
• Self-starter and problem solver with the ability to work with minimal supervision. Be hands on and open to new way of doing things.

Education Requirements

• Bachelors degree or equivalent
• Accounting Qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
