Fire Safety Officer Public Sector / London

Job Description

A brand-new role for a NEBOSH qualified Fire Safety Officer has arisen, within a large public sector organisation. You will be joining a successful, Property Services department and as a newly created position, will offer the opportunity to really make your mark. Managing the fire safety of over 400 public sector properties across West London, you must have a minimum of 5 years fire safety experience with commercial contract management exp. of fire safety / fire risk contracts and building services / Facilities Management exp. Salary circa £55k plus generous public sector benefits. West London based with associated travel.You will manage a large amount of internal and external stakeholders and communication will be key to your success. We are specifically looking for someone that can flex their working style up and down the business as well as build solid relationships with external fire safety and fire risk assessment contractors. You will need to have the ability to be organised, use your initiative and communicate to a good standard, both written and spoken, at all levels.A large focus of the role will be contract management, ensuring compliance, and supplier KPIs are met at all times. You will develop the area of responsibility and ensure compliance by implementing processes to ensure good auditable records and ensuring a safe working environment for public and staff. Managing contract performance and value for money will be critical. Duties of the Fire Safety Officer include:* Ensuring Fire systems and risk compliance across the Services portfolio.* Managing contractors carrying out Fire systems upgrades, maintenance, surveys and inspections.* Managing Fire related projects. * Ensuring excellent management of records and files.* Ensuring sites have Fire Risk assessments, actions are investigated, remedials successfully completed and the risk assessment is up to date. * Ensuring building managers are managing the risks and works commissioned in their buildings.* Developing strong relationships with the engineering team and clients.The successful Fire Safety Officer will ideally have:* The successful candidate will have 5 years experience working within Fire Safety, such as Fire Safety Engineer, backed up with Technical competency and qualifications such as NEBOSH* Experience of managing fire safety contract providers* Strong project management skills with the confidence to challenge deadlines and conflict* Experience of managing fire programs, (Fire door, fire drill, fire prevention, current fire legislation knowledge an advantage* Background experience in building / property services* Extensive Fire Safety technical experience, with the ability to handle complex data and reports* Fire risk assessment Surveying and Management Experience * Fire prevention, education and inspection experience* Demonstrating fire alarm testing and maintenance experience* Fire investigation certification of interest* Experience of using Fire Safety systems (CAFM)* Candidate must be willing to travel within Ealing to a number of sitesThis is an urgent role with interviews early December, therefore please do not delay your application."Fire Safety", "Fire Risks", NEBOSH, "Public Sector", FM, "Facilities Management", "West London" Required skills
