Job Description

REFERENCE:9991 /18C Our client is a PE-backed renewable investments platform that develops, acquires and invests in onshore wind, solar and energy storage across the different stages of the asset lifecycle, and plans to actively manage its portfolio duringits investment hold period. The firm is looking to build their team by hiring highly ambitious people who care about making a difference within the transition to sustainable energy. Strong growth is expected over the next five years, with the firm having thebacking of two prominent investment managers. They are now looking to hire a Financial Director. In this position, you will lead and develop the finance functions. The position will be based in London and you will report to the CEO directly, whilst interactingclosely with the advisory board and the relevant shareholders. RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensure that the finance function is structured and sized, so as to be optimally aligned to the needs of the business, ensuring adequate cash flow to meet the organisations needs.Working with and supporting the CEO as may be appropriate with any ongoing fundraising activities while managing the companys cash effectively. Oversee and manage the accounting, tax, insurance and all financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and reconciliations.Preparation of all financial statements and cash flow projections to ensure the interests of all stakeholders are served. Manage the relationship with the audit firm for annual audit/income tax activities and all related matters. Leverage a detailed understandingof whats driving the numbers to act as a key strategic and operational contributor to the overall growth of the business. Effectively manage the companys cash and securities position in order to benefit all stakeholders and ensure the more efficient operationof the business, driving supplementary initiatives where deemed necessary. Work with project finance team to ensure capital adequacy requirements are met under financing agreements and manage all corporate lending requirements at the HoldCo level. Work withM&A teams with regards to all structuring requirements and required financial due diligence with a focus on tax, relationship management, payment completion and onboarding of assets. Remain informed about the business, put measurements and reporting dashboardsinto place enabling real time assessment of performance and whats over the horizon. Ensure IT is not only aligned to the needs of the business but enables its growth. Attend Board and subcommittee meetings as may be appropriate. YOUR PROFILE: Qualifiedaccountant (ACA/ACCA) with post qualified experience Good technical knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP Senior financial management experience with day-to-day financial operations and oversight, with some with an equity owner of renewable energy assets, developmentplatform or IPP Experience in ERP e.g. Navision, Oracle incl FCCS/Hyperion Experience in dealing with banks and treasury, with exposure to tax accounting and issues. Experience using (external) shared service centers covering accounting, IT, compliance, corporatesecretarial functions, tax as and when necessary Experience in dealing with JVs, various shareholders and partners at local levels Highly organised, able to plan ahead to deliver accurate information to tight reporting deadlines Track record of dealing withissues of scaling and growth of early-stage business into mature companies Experience with M&A transactions and post-acquisition integration will be a definite asset. Experience in emerging markets is essential together with a willingness to pursue such marketopportunities Enjoy working in an international team with a fasted paced, dynamic environment, with personal drive and high levels of commitment Flexibility and ability to work professionally and accurately under pressure and challenging deadlines as wellas to prioritise your tasks
