Financial Controller - Entertainment/Events - Central London

Job Description

A very exciting Entertainment business are on the hunt for a hands on, driven Financial Controller to come on board on a full time permanent basis. As Financial Controller you will work heavily with the Finance Director and CEO to ensure smooth running ofthe finance function, becoming an integral part of the business growth plan and leading from the front.The role is offered on a hybrid basis, however initially we would like someone to be office based 4 days per week for the on boarding and settling in phase.The ideal candidate will be fully qualified with a proven track record in a similar role, someone who is passionate for the Entertainment and Events industry is a must! On top of this we are looking for someone who is not afraid of a challenge, and someonewho wants to put their own stamp on an integral position within the company.Key responsibilities:

  • Manage effective accounting and bookkeeping systems and procedures.
  • Prepare monthly group and consolidated management report
  • Work with the relevant Group budget holders to understand and complete forecasts
  • Responsible for the International billing under the direction of the Licensing Team
  • Responsible for all tax reporting under the Group entities.
  • Develop, maintain and monitor internal financial control processes and systems along with the
  • Responsible for all accounting systems set up for self-produced Sites (UK currently, US planned)
  • Prepare documents and schedules for annual accounts liaising with accountants.
  • Contribute financial information to business plans and proposals.
  • Act as the Business Partner for the central Head Office Team and budget holders.
  • Work on sourcing the relevant territory information for new self-produced Sites.
  • Manage relationships and negotiations with our bank.
  • Work with our producers on establishing and managing royalties, pools, recoupments, investments and distributions where needed.
  • Build strong relationship with UK HR to ensure payroll reporting is completed accurately.
  • Be the first point of contact for payroll queries in the UK.
  • Lead on setting up and reporting on PSA.
  • Communicate with stakeholders on finance and business development matters.
  • Provide commercial awareness of activities within the arts and entertainment sector, support & develop new financial models.
Key skills:
  • Fully qualified Accountant
  • Experience in a hands on Financial Controller previously
  • Excellent communication and business partnering skills
  • Prior managerial experience - someone who enjoys leading and nurturing talent within the Finance team
  • Highly organised with the ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Eager to get stuck in and ready to be challenged
  • IT literate with strong MS Excel
  • Has a genuine interest in the Entertainment/Arts/Events industry
