Job Description

A thriving Jewish Charity is looking for a Financial Controller. You will be responsible for a team and will provide regular financial information and advice to the Board and Senior Management Team.As a Financial Controller, your responsibilities will include:

  • Being the Charitys main day-to-day contact with banks, auditors, regulators, payroll provider, pension scheme and consultants.
  • Providing regular financial information and advice to the Board and the Senior Management Team, to enable them to make the best possible decisions in the interest of the charity.
  • Working with the Senior Management Team to develop systems and capability of staff across the charity for the effective use and interpretation of information.
  • Working with the Senior Management Team to develop and advise the Board on appropriate policies including those concerning reserves policy, income and cost trends and overall exposure to financial risk.
  • Ensuring the financial systems across the organisation are fit for purpose, to provide accurate and timely information, as required both internally and externally.
  • Producing monthly management accounts and accurate cash flow forecasting by the tenth working day of the following month.
  • Ensuring provision of statutory accounts with a clean audit report annually and lead the relationship with the auditors.
  • Providing and/or co-ordinating all accounting, payroll administration, pension administration and taxation services and advice to the Group.
  • Ensuring that the charity meets its regulatory requirements as set required by Companies House, the Charity Commission, Information Commissioners Office, Fundraising Regulator and HMRC.
  • Providing reporting services to managers and Trustees e.g., management accounts, trend, and variance analysis.
  • Providing support and advice for the Office Management with HR, Insurance, and other service provider contracts.
We are looking for a Group Financial Controller who has the following skills and experiences:
  • Full Professional Qualification status, (ACA, ACMA, ACCA).
  • Good working knowledge of reporting requirements and regulations for Charity and Company accounts.
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal with good interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organisational and prioritising skills, able to manage multiple tasks with an exceptional attention to detail.
  • Previous experience working within a charity is desirable.
In return, the Financial Controller will receive a salary of up to £75,000 per annum, a pension scheme and 20 days holiday plus bank holidays and additional days off for Jewish festivals.To apply for this role, please click apply online and upload an updated copy of your CV.
