Job Description

Our client is the UK Market leader in a specific mechancial engineering sector and they are now on the look out for a Financial Controller to join their team.Keen to speak to candidates who have an audit background and have now had a few years experience within a commercial enviroment.Key Responsibilities

  • Accurate and timely production of monthly management accounts for the organisation and parent companies
  • Analysis of the P&L and reconciliation of the balance sheet on a monthly basis
  • Management of the finance team
  • Assisting the Finance Director in overseeing all areas of finance and communicating any key issues in a clear and concise manner
  • Preparation & submission of monthly vat returns & all HMRC related tasks (including intrastat)
  • Working closely with each department to track monthly performance to budget
  • Cashflow forecasting
  • Responsibility for financial controls & procedures
  • Production of Key Performance Indicators (sales reports, etc.)
  • Ensuring that debtors are managed, and regular debtor’s reports are produced
  • Ownership of yearly budgets and forecast
  • Preparation of annual statutory accounts and managing the end of year audit process
  • Providing proactive, insightful and high-quality analysis
  • Identifying opportunities to improve financial systems and processes
  • Tracking of financial performance measures and quality KPIs
  • Other ad-hoc duties / reports as required
  • Person Profile
  • Qualified accountant with 3 years PQE (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Especially Microsoft Excel)
  • Proven track record in team management
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines, prioritise workload and deliver high quality and timely information
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Flexible approach to tasks and teamwork
  • Detail orientated, analytical, problem solving
  • A proactive individual who takes ownership
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with others within the company and network
  • Package
  • Core Working hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week – 9.00am -5.30pm, Monday to Friday
  • Salary: up to £65,000 per annum dependant on experience
  • Benefits: 25 days holidays, Healthshield benefits, private medical cover and local gym membership
  • Contract: Permanent (6-month probationary period)
