Our client is a truly global organisation who boast partnerships with many FTSE100/Fortune500 companies that helps them improve ethical and responsible business practices in their supply chain, operating in the high-profile Environmental/Social/Governance(ESG) space. The finance team is going through a period of evolution and currently seeking a talented Financial Controller to join the business, whos looking for a challenging role where they can shape the finance function from almost a green field startingpoint. The business has a very flexible working policy, with only 1/2 days expected in their beautiful Central London offices.The RoleThe Financial controller is a key role, responsible for ensuring the provision of accurate, relevant, and timely management information, including the global financial statements. Furthermore, you will own the improvement and efficiency of controls, processesand systems whilst maintaining compliance with relevant accounting standards and legislation.You will be the global lead in ensuring the rollout and compliance of the company accounting policies and asset management - particularly taken the lead on all internal and external ESG disclosures and reporting. The role will encompass all aspects of financialand management accounting and will very much be a key Finance liaison point within the business.Reporting into the Finance Director, the FC is responsible for the financial operations, controls, accounting, and reporting, as well as managing the finance team. There will be significant scope to expand the role over the next 2-3 years, as the businessembarks on a bold 5-year strategy for significant growth and investment.Main Responsibilities

• Own all Day-to-day general accounting /AP / AR / Treasury
• Oversee and manage the team on end-to-end finance operations as above
• Treasury management across the UK and regions
• Drive improvement in process and controls
• Be the ESG technical accounting "guru" and own all ESG reporting
• Perform monthly and ad-hoc financial analysis
• Write all technical accounting papers for the auditors
• Prepare monthly management accounts for the UK companies and consolidate for Group
• Provide variance analysis commentary to budget and forecast for FD and CFO
• Own all the balance sheets and ensure they are complete and accurate
• Prepare, Manage, and complete the annual year-end audit
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting preparation
• Payroll control
• General External Regulatory Compliance reporting
• Assist with Tax projects including tax comps, R&D returns, Transfer Pricing etc
• Manage and develop the finance team (including transactional teams)
• Maintain the user groups and access of the financial force application
• Assist with any ERP and similar projects and implementations
• Assist with any Corporate Finance transactions, where necessary.

Skills and Experience

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) - strong preference for Big 4/Top 10 training, candidates at Manager/Senior Manager level from a top firm looking for their first move into industry will be considered
• Background in or passion for Sustainability and/or Environmental Social Governance (ESG) is highly desirable.
• Understand latest Accounting Standards
• Have some understanding of Global Tax and Transfer Pricing rules
• Ideally from an Audit background (Audit Manager level or above)
• Able to deal with different business functions
• Excellent communication skills
• Advanced Excel and modelling capabilities
• Ability to delegate and manage the work of others
• Knowledge of Salesforce and Financial Force is desired but not essential
