Job Description

This not-for-profit organisation is looking to recruit an experienced Financial Analyst. You will work as part of a newly developed team that is responsible for providing comprehensive reporting, analysis and financial models that supports internal reporting and analysis of the organisations financial performancethat will support key decision-making processes.Reporting to the Head of Financial Planning & Analysis, your daily duties will include:

  • Build and maintain new financial reporting models and reports for the wider finance team to use - ensuring reports are fit for purpose and conform to best practice.
  • Support the Finance Business Partnering team to provide accurate and timely management information, budget and forecast development and monitoring, analysis and advice to budget holders and key stakeholders.
  • Supporting budgeting and forecasting for projects, ensuring the provision of regular financial information to project managers, and enhancing the quality of business case information.
  • Financial planning and reporting across the whole organisation, supporting the planning and reporting cycle working directly with the key stakeholders.
  • Build analytical reporting to support identification of key forecast trends, provide business performance insight and analysis.
  • Improve reporting and analytical skills within the Finance team, by providing training in spreadsheet skills and analysis techniques.
  • Design and deliver improvement in reporting practices across the department by development in line with best practice policies and guidelines.
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant or part-qualified individual with the necessary reporting skills gained through experience within a financial function of a complex multi-site organisation. You must have substantial experience in complexdata manipulation and possess the ability to analyse numbers critically, extracting information for management information.For this exciting role, it is essential that you have advanced spreadsheet and data manipulation skills. Excellent systems skills with strong Excel knowledge a prerequisite whilst a working knowledge of Power BI, Power Query and SQL would provide a distinct advantage.
