Job Description

Robertson Bell are proud to be exclusively partnering with theUK Export Finance(UKEF) to recruit two Financial Accountant positions. These are new posts due to growth and expansion of the finance team, each of the positions will be responsible for ensuring that proper financial control processes are in place and to ensure the accuracy andreliability of the financial statements and other published financial information, to satisfy the Accounting Officers responsibilities regarding regularity, propriety and value for money of UK Export Finances dealings.The responsibilities of the Financial Accountant (x2) will include

  • Support the production of monthly accounts for the UKEFs financial instruments (loan and derivative portfolio)
  • Reviewing and analysing monthly and quarterly information from internal teams to update valuations, income accruals and provisions / impairments
  • Preparing journals for all Loan and derivative financial instruments, ensuring that the treatment is in line with IFRS (as adopted by UKEF)
  • Preparing month end commentary for the Monthly Management Report
  • Assisting with reporting on UKEFs IFRS-based financial information
  • Work closely with the Operations Division to ensure the correct reporting of all loans and derivative financial instruments
  • Obtaining year-end information from internal teams (Risk, Operations, Business Group) to produce final valuations, including impairment testing
  • Preparing year-end journals for financial instruments for the Technical Accountant to review
  • Assist with the preparation of a range of disclosures within the annual report and accounts
  • Supporting on change management projects and system changes and improvements.
  • Support the development of new product accounting requirements and subsequent testing.
The successful candidates will work with colleagues across the division and the department to support the process for the production of UKEFs monthly accounts, Supply Estimates and Annual report and accounts and other financial reports. These roles willinvolve working with internal stakeholders, including underwriters, the operations team, and internal and external auditors, to ensure robust financial reporting of UKEFs products.Key Skills & Experience
  • Experience of financial statements preparation and financial accounting for complex consolidations, including experience of applying International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Qualified with CCAB, CIMA or equivalent
  • Results-driven and ambitious team player who is able to work at a fast pace in a pressurised environment
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to build productive working relationships across divisions within the organisations and external auditors
  • Possess strong IT skills (in particular Excel)
