Job Description

Overview:An experienced Financial Accountant to join the Technical Accounting function of a leading European Retail Banking business. Involved in statutory and complex technical accounting processes and producing annual reports for the UK business. The FinancialAccountant will also lead on the external audit process and communicate with the Board audit committee. A well known Retail Banking brand with products across Mortgages & Lending, Savings and Wealth Management. Hybrid working model with 2-3 days a week in the City and a good work-life balanceThe Role:

  • Preparation and management of statutory accounts and consolidated financial statements
  • Support and coaching of junior members of the financial accounting team, finance operations and branch finance on accounting matters
  • Month and quarter end financial accounting close process in line with IFRS 16 and IFRS 9
  • Production of technical accounting papers, quarterly review of accounting production work and preparation of reports for audit committee.
  • Act as the key point of contact for the external auditors, specifically around year end external audit, working with them to solves any issues
  • Understanding and implementation of new accounting policies.
  • Project work including work with accounting policy.
  • Co-ordination and review of monthly financial reporting controls.

Profile:
  • ACA/ACCA Qualified Accountant with experience of preparing statutory accounts and financial statements.
  • Technical Accounting knowledge and understanding of IFRS
  • Experience of working in audit would be an advantage, as well as Banking / Financial Services experience.
  • Collaborative and interactive approach to working, able to manage relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholders
