Financial Accountant This newly created role represents the opportunity to join the Finance Team of a leading developer and operator of purpose-built student accommodation in the US, Latin America, and Europe - CA Ventures. With over $8.6 billion of assets under management and development, CA have recently launched their European strategy with a considerable pipeline of PBSA and Build to Rent (BTR) assets to be mobilised over the next two years.Reporting directly into the Financial Controller, this position will provide far ranging support across all aspects of the Finance function. This busy and varied Financial Accountant role will provide critical support and help underpin our efforts to meet our ambitious delivery schedules. The role is for someone with strong accounts experience, and knowledge of key accounting principles who wants to help a forward thinking and growing company meet its ambitious targets. CA Ventures are delivering 3 student schemes across the country in 2021, alongside entering the Build to Rent market, with similar delivery pace in 2022 and beyond, including expansion to continental Europe.Your Responsibilities * Responsible for the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable (intra-group), analysing the account listings and rectifying any errors* Reporting on and completing monthly reconciliations of accounts* Preparation of statutory financial statements* Supporting the development and documentation of business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls* Preparing project cost reports and assisting with drawdowns and transactional work* Assisting with the preparation of management accounts, KPIs and other management information* Providing support throughout the audit process* Supporting the Finance Team where necessary; ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all relevant accounting tasksYour Track Record * Part-qualified accountancy experience is essential for this position (ACCA, CIMA, etc.)* A thorough knowledge and understanding of key accounting principles* Proven experience within a similar accounts position is required, ideally with a minimum of 3-5 years practice* Excellent Excel skills (including the use of Pivot Tables, SUMIFs) and all-round IT proficient* Strong capability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment; maintaining strong attention to detail throughout your work* Accountancy experience within the Real Estate sector is desirable, an interest for the industry and eagerness to learn is most important* European languages are a bonus but not essential (Spanish, Italian, Dutch or Portuguese)* Oracle Fusion experience desirable but not essentialYour Style* Self-motivated and continuously demonstrating the ability to adapt, develop and learn* A quick learner with the drive to succeed in a growing and ambitious company * Extremely hard working, determined and have the ability to work effectively under pressure* Strong analytical skills and a strategic mindset* Reliable, consistent and have a positive and co-operative attitude* A true people person, with a team-player attitude and excellent communication skillsIf you are interested in joining our team, building a best in class department, tell us more about your interest in this role.
