Finance OfficerLocation: MSSC HQ, 202 Lambeth Road, London, SE1 7JW. Contract: Full time, PermanentSalary: £22,000 - £25,000 per annumClosing Date: 12th September 2021Interview Date: TBCApplication: CV & Supporting StatementMarine Society and Sea Cadets(MSSC) is a leading maritime charity in lifelong learning and personal development and is the governing charity of the Sea Cadet Corps (SCC), a civilian voluntary youth organisation engaging some 15,000 young people over 400 Sea Cadet Units, throughout theUK. The SCC offers a wide range of youth opportunities with the same enduring objective - to give young people the best possible head start in life through nautical adventure and fun.We now need a second Finance Officer to join the existing team in assistingthe Financial Controller with the maintenance of the charitys accounting books and records, managing the charitys accounting receipts and payments and other transactions and performing such other duties within the Finance department that the Financial Controllermay require. A significant element of the work of the department is the management of the purchase ledger. You will have an aptitude for and experience of working in a finance department, a good general level of formal education, sound IT proficiency, experienceof working in a customer facing role, able to work both as a team member and unsupervised, experience of maintaining records and filing systems, strong decision making skills, data protection awareness, experience of organising your own work and managing deadlinesand be prepared to undertake occasional travel.
