Job Description

Reed Accountancy are recruiting a Finance Officer role within a well established private school based in SW11Job Title: Finance OfficerFeesReporting to: Head of FinanceHours: 08:00 to 17:00 (including meal breaks) Monday to Friday in School term time and 9:30 to 16:30 during School vacation periods.Salary: up to £30,000 depending on experienceBenefits: Defined pension contribution scheme, with up to 10% employer contribution and life insurance cover. Free lunch on site during term time.Role Purpose:The Finance Officer (fees) role forms part of a small, professional finance team responsible for all finance functions within the organisation.The role holder is primarily responsible for the administration of all school fees and additional charges on over 1,000 parent accounts. This includes the associated credit control and liaising directly with parents and internal stakeholders.Essential qualifications, experience and skills requirements:

  • AAT certification, Accounting Degree or working towards a professional accounting qualification
  • Exposure to billing and credit control, or a customer facing role dealing with financial matters
  • Excellent IT skills proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to relate well to people on all levels with sensitivity, tact and diplomacy
  • First class organisation and administrative skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure and work to tight deadlines
  • Evidence of pro-active approach to planning and prioritising work
  • Enthusiastic, positive and hardworking
  • Commitment to maintain the caring and supporting ethos of the school
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist others
Desirable:
  • Previous experience of dealing with school fees
  • Knowledge of iFinance
