Job Description

The client is looking for an individual to manage all aspects of Financial Reporting and management. This role will manage a team of 4 (2 assistant management accounts and 2 assistants), with primary responsibilities in leading external and internal controls; ensure up-to-date compliance to HMRC guidance; actively lead process improvement and team development.Key deliverables: External reporting and compliance:

  • Partnering with Group statutory accountant to prepare year end accounts
  • Day to day liaison with auditors to ensure audits are delivered on time
  • Prepare and oversee VAT returns, Intrastat returns & ensure other statutory returns are filed on time
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial legislation and regulations
  • Internal Controls:
  • Lead and partner with Group service functions to ensure ongoing robust internal controls and processes are aligned with group procedures
  • Lead internal audits and implement initiatives to any gaps identified by internal auditors
  • Manage the month end close process:
  • Monthly management accounts reporting
  • Providing reports and analysis on financial performance vs budget/forecast variance analysis Business partnering, providing financial performance to departmental leads
  • Periodic balance sheet reconciliations
  • Treasury & cash:
  • Cashflow management
  • Regular partnership with Group to align cashflow and currency requirements
  • Other:
  • Supporting ERP implementation. Ensuring the data in ERP is accurate and agrees to the Financial General Ledger and the Commercial structure. Provide training and ongoing support to users of ERP, Master data management. Oversee AP and AR procedures, ensuring prompt payment and receivables, Identify opportunities to improve processes to enhance controls and efficiency
  • Key skills/attributes:
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with post qualification experience, ideally in a fast moving consumer business
  • Experience in the beverage industry preferable
  • Excellent technical and IT knowledge (Google sheet/Excel)
  • The ability to provide accurate and clear information, well presented and in consideration of the audience. Strong organisation skills and the ability to prioritise tasks and manage team workloads. Proven track record of identifying and implementing opportunities for continuous improvement. Able to form strong working relationships across the business
