About Equals Equals is a construction project and cost management consultancy. The business is a private limited company. We currently employ 39 staff, most of our work is within the United Kingdom, and we are based at 130 Shaftesbury Avenue, London.We are looking to recruit a Finance Manager on a part-time basis, initially to work from home but with the expectancy to be able to work flexibly as required upon the reopening of the office in 2021 (subject to government advice and restrictions).The RoleThe Finance Manager will carry out all tasks relating to finance enabling technical staff to focus on fee earning work.The main responsibilities of the role will involve providing the Directors with information in a consistent, understandable and timely manner. The Finance Manager will be expected to work at a senior management level and will report to the Board via a nominated Director.The tasks of the Finance Manager will include:— Preparation of financial accounts to trial balance ready for audit— Maintenance of good relationships with our Auditor— Monthly bookkeeping and month-end journals on Xero— Preparation of monthly management accounts— Preparation of monthly payroll workings to be sent to outsourced payroll provider— Administration of payment runs to staff, HMRC and suppliers— Overseeing invoices sent to clients— Debt management— Management of bank accounts— Maintenance of good relationships with Bank Officials— Support as required with project job costing and on the preparation of annual budgets— Reporting to the board of Directors on key finance performance metrics— Collating data to review the company’s charge rates annually— Management of monthly work in progress reviews— Development and maintenance of financial systems— Ensure compliance with all financial regulations— Review company assets and liabilities— Prepare monthly reconciliations of all accounts— Overseeing monthly staff expense process— Providing ad-hoc support to Directors as required (cashflows, trend analysis etc)The Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate will:— Be a fully qualified accountant (CIMA/ACA/ACCA) though part-qualified candidates will also be considered— Have advanced Excel skills and a thorough understanding of Xero— Have some experience working for a consultancy or within the service industry— Be able to produce a full set of management accounts— Have exceptional interpersonal skills and be able to successfully communicate with people at all levels, both financial and non-financial— Be able to work in a sole-charge role with a level of independence— Be able to work to deadlines with excellent time management skills— Be able to vary their working hours around the demands of the business at certain times of the month or year Required skills
