Job Description

Want to work for a charitable organisation with a strong mission and huge global presence Could you successfully lead an accounting function whilst preparing the statutory and management accounts yourself Are you CCAB qualified with recent charity SORP experience If yes, this role could be for you!Robertson Bell are delighted to be working with this inspiring international charity whilst they recruit to a permanent Finance Manager role. Reporting into the Finance and Resources Director this is a great opportunity for a hands-on Finance Manager within a high-profile INGO. This unique organisation was founded over 50 years ago and comprises of some of the UKs leading and best-known philanthropic agencies. Duties for this role will include but won’t be limited to:

  • Overall responsibility for the running of the organisations finance department.
  • Lead on the preparation of statutory and management accounts.
  • Carry out business partnering with high profile budget holders providing sufficient support and holding regular meetings.
  • Oversee a high volume of donations carrying out processing, reconciling, and reporting related to these donations.
  • Deputise for the Finance and Resources Director when necessary.
  • Oversee all bank accounts ensuring agreed fund accounting and agreed mandates requirements.
  • Lead on process and systems reviews rolling out improvements as necessary.
  • Oversee all transactional processes ensuring the correct recording of all invoice payments.
  • Manage a Finance Officer providing relevant training and mentoring.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting working closely with the Finance and Resources Director.
  • This organisation has seen a significant increase in income over the last four years and is fully funded by its agency members. Having raised over £1bn to date this is a unique opportunity for an experienced finance professional who would feel passionate and proud to work for a humanitarian charity.This successful candidate will have:
  • A CCAB finance qualification.
  • Recent experience in the charitable sector.
  • Previous experience leading on statutory and management accounts.
  • A strong understanding of restricted and unrestricted funds.
  • Excellent communication skills.
