Job Description

Finance Director, up to £70,800 + Benefits For a large membership organisation and registered charity, we are recruiting a Finance Director on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Executive Director of Finance and Resources, the Finance Director will provide high-quality financial management and statutory accounting, leading and developing a team of 7 staff, overseeing financial systems, policies, and procedures to ensure finance robustness, and compliance.Main Duties:

  • Lead the finance function, supporting the Executive Director of Finance and Resources with financial systems, policies, and procedures
  • Establish and maintain a highly performing Finance team
  • Work with the ED of Finance and Resources to develop annual revenue and capital budgets and long-term forecasts
  • Produce, oversee, and analyse monthly management accounts for business leaders and Board
  • Manage cash-flow forecasts and Management Accounts for Board and SLT
  • Act as primary business partner to the senior leadership team as well as business plans and investment appraisal support
  • Oversee annual external audit process, prepare consolidated accounts, working with Auditors and the Audit and Risk Committee
  • Oversee and run an effective financial processing function
  • Support the ED Finance and Resources with the management of the investment portfolio and oversee the Treasury function, managing the relationships with bankers, lenders, and Investment Managers
  • Ensure all restricted, endowed, and designated funds are accounted property
  • Oversee, and develop robust finance systems across Payroll, Expenses, CRM, and BI
    • Person Specification:
  • CCAB qualified, ideally with senior finance leadership experience from the charity sector
  • Strong charity and SORP accounting experience
  • Strong staff leadership and development experience including performance management
  • Extensive budgeting, financial planning, forecasting and charity taxation experience including VAT partial recovery
  • Experience adapting accounting packages and accounts coding structures
  • Experience in establishing cost recording and management reporting for Grant Funded projects
  • Defined Benefit pension experience
  • Treasury management and cash-flow forecasting experience as well as investment portfolios and banking relationships
  • Strong month-end and year end statutory accounting experience including Audit
  • Experience of restricted funds within the commissioning environment
