Job Description

My client is a commercial law firm based in the heart of Londons historic legal district in Lincolns Inn. Founded in the early 1900s, they have grown to become a thriving and modern practice, providing a comprehensive range of legal services to meet theneeds of a wide variety of businesses, individuals and organisation based throughout the UK and overseas.They are now looking for a Finance Assistant to join their team on a permanent basis.Responsibilities

  • Post all office expenditure invoices to the purchase ledger on a daily basis, including staff and partner expenses for the LLP and the Service Company.
  • Prepare payment runs on a weekly basis for the purchase ledger, transmitting payments on the RBS Bankline system.
  • Post monthly salary journals when received from HR/payroll.
  • Maintaining the control accounts for Salaries and PAYE on a monthly basis and investigating differences.
  • Maintain the Office 2 and ECSL bank reconciliation on a daily basis, fully reconciling on a monthly basis for sign off.
  • Arranging the payment of bank transfers between the LLP and ECSL when needed.
  • Reconciling OHIM and IPO control accounts.
  • Regularly clearing of old invoices on the Purchase Ledger and investigating differences.
  • Assisting with questions from the auditors as and when needed.
  • Assisting other areas of the Office team during absences.
  • Assisting the Systems team as a when needed.
Candidate Profile
  • The successful candidate must have previous Law firm experience. Previous experience of Aderant is desirable.
  • Be up to date with all SRA regulations ensuring that all client transactions are carried out under compliance.
  • Knowledge of VAT compliance.
  • Confident with numbers, attention to detail
  • The successful candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • To be able to liaise effectively at all levels
